Reflecting on Surah Hajj: 25-37

Is hajj binding on me or anyone that I know? If yes plan for yourself and remind those who should go.
Hajj is not binding on me because I do not have the resources. I know people on who Hajj is binding, most of them have young children. I think that’s the major thing that prevents them from going to Hajj. Newly weds give more importance on visiting different countries rather than going for Hajj.
Mostly people in Pakistan wait till their old and till their children are much older. We forget that we need to go as soon as Hajj becomes binding on us.

A Student of the Quran

Hajj is binding on every Muslim who can afford it and yes it was binding upon me too! I went for Hajj when I was 1, 2 and 3 years old! My parents tell me how they did tawaf around the Kabah by carrying me on their shoulders!:) All I can do is pray to Allah (swt) that He rewards my parents for all their endeavors in this life as well as in the Akhirah ! Inshallah.

I performed Hajj as an adult with my husband right after getting married. I think it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. I remember praying in Arafat with my husband and it was the most profound and unforgettable moments of my life.

I would like to get a chance to perform Hajj again Inshallah, as I feel after learning more of the Quran and going through Surah Hajj, I could benefit myself more Inshallah.

I would like to remind my brothers, their families and my sister and her husband that they should perform Hajj ASAP. Inshallah they will get a chance to go soon.  Know they’ve all performed it when they were young, but I think as an adult you have an entirely different perspective.

And may we all be free from sins as on the day we were born after performing it Inshallah!

    ASA,
We may not have the resources today for performing Hajj, but with dua and the niyah of doing Hajj because Hajj is one of the 5 Pillars of Islam, it is incumbent on every Muslim. If currently we are unable to perform Hajj and fall into the category of being exempt from it, we should not become complacent about it. We should always strive to at least make dua to Allah to make some means for us to go for Hajj-to not prevent us from the beautiful reward of Hajj-e-Mabrur – to have Allah wash away all our sins as if we were born. Inshallah. For Allah (SWT)- absolutely anything and everything is possible. We need to continue with our bit in asking Him.

ASA, also Hajj can be performed best when one is young and healthy … and the worship done in youth is beloved to Allah. i don’t know why, but it is a very common practice in our part of the world to wait until one is old to perform Hajj, and we should encourage young people to go for Hajj, because no one knows when death may overcome one.

Walikumsalam sana… Jazakillah! Yes I almost forgot that the worship done in youth is beloved by Allah. Thanks for sharing your comment 🙂

    • Asa.Alhamdulillah what a blessing of Allah swt that Hajj is a means of getting close to Allah swt. After reading the Quran one realizes the importance of Hajj and wants to fulfill this obligation for the pleasure of Allah swt.Hope we can all go ideally in our youth and enjoy this act of worship with our Muslim brothers and sisters. However,if one did not realize its importance in youth hope they still get to go very soon.A friend just went and she was sharing how Allah swt made it really easy for her old parents who could not go earlier. So all we have to do is take one step towards Allah swt and not be afraid as according to the gist of a hadith if we take one step towards Allah swt He will take ten steps towards us.
