Uzma Jawed
“And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful.”
[Al Qur’an-Surah al Qasas:73]
I felt there was a big difference in how I lived my life while I was in Dubai and how my life is in Karachi. In Dubai, night time was meant for work, and day time was meant for resting. Waking up very late was a norm.
However, when I moved here and realized that the day time was actually for working and night time was for rest, my entire body went through a major change for the better! I felt there was more barkah in my time and I could function much more efficiently than before!
This made me realize that our Creator truly knows how His creation will work most effectively and if we truly consider the Qur’an as our own personal instruction manual, we will only be benefitting ourselves.
Uzma what a great reminder.I was thinking of the gist of the hadith of Rasul Allah s.a.w where he said that there is barakah in the early hours of the day for my ummah.Hope we make use of the time after Fajr.
It’s important to inculcate these important habits of early to bed and early to rise in our children. Also it’s so important to enter the morning and evening with zikr of Allah! When we remember Allah, He too makes mention of us!!
Asa,
Also health advice by doctors show that the night’s sleep is the best one. “Getting a good night’s sleep does even more than protect against diabetes, weight gain and cranky mornings.” (The You Docs)
You can experience it yourself. the night when you haven’t had a “good” sleep, you wake up tired and even grouchy!
Subhan’Allah for the way Allah (SWT) has automatically created a perfect system for our benefit and yet we still don’t want to follow it…
