And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah . But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah . And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment.
[Al-Qur’an:Surah Al-Baqarah(The cow):165]
The only way I can put Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) first in my life is if I truly accept Him as my number one priority, for He Himself mentions in Qur’an that He has endowed us with uncountable blessings like the Qur’an and the Hadith. He has chosen us and given us preference over many other nations.
I will only be able to make His commands a priority if, before saying or doing anything, I think about whether my actions will please Him, or would He be upset over this? I know that only through learning the Qur’an and Sunnah will I be able to keep track on both Huqooq-ul-Allah and Haqooq-ul-Ibad.
In addition, I will definitely pay more attention towards my rituals and my ‘Ibadaat’ and be more polite and humble towards my family, especially my in-laws and my children, Insha’ Allah.
