“O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous – [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah , if you should be truthful. But if you do not – and you will never be able to – then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before.” And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.”
[Al-Qur’an – Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) – 2: 21-25]
How do u feel knowing that Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) asked you to worship Him for your benefit so that you would be eligible for Jannah?
By worshiping Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) purely for His sake, we not only achieve internal peace which makes life of this world much simpler, but mainly we find the path going towards Jannah. It is a win-win situation. I feel this life is very short, but the journey towards Jannah seems very long. The coming of death, the questioning by the angels , the waking up from our graves and being accountable on the Day of Judgement, the crossing of bridge Sirat and then finally my destination, Inshaa’Allah Jannah (with the Mercy of Allah [سبحانه و تعالى])
To pass through these stages easily after death, I need to collect as many good deeds as possible here in the dunya. The good deeds will be my ticket to pass through these stages easily. But how do I know what those good deeds are? Being reminded through the Qur’an and Hadith
over and over again, and by firmly holding onto it is the key to success. Therefore firmly holding onto the Qur’an and Sunnah and to keep on walking on that straight path which ends at Jannah is my goal now. I want nothing short of Jannah, Inshaa’Allah!
